Structo: A Minimalistic Lamp with Maximum Impact

Bringing Urban Inspiration to Illumination

Inspired by the temporary scaffolding structures found in urban landscapes, Naty Moskovich and Iddo Zimmerman have created Structo, a lamp that combines minimalist design with innovative technology to elevate lighting to new heights.

When traveling through Hong Kong, Moskovich and Zimmerman were captivated by the multitude of temporary scaffolding structures that are so commonplace in the city. These structures, used for construction purposes, exude effortless functionality and elegance. Drawing inspiration from this urban backdrop, the designers set out to create a lamp that embodies the same principles.

Structo is a lamp that stands out from the crowd. It incorporates LED light guide technology, which ensures uniform light distribution and reduced glare. The lamp's construction features beech wood and aluminum materials, emphasizing simplicity and elegance. The result is a versatile light that provides both direct task illumination and ambient lighting simultaneously. With 360 degrees of rotation, Structo offers flexibility in casting light in any direction.

What sets Structo apart is its use of state-of-the-art light guide optical technology, adapted from the image scanner industry. This technology generates an extremely uniform light that eliminates hot spots and multiple shadows. Additionally, 90% of the LED-emitted light is directed downwards, while 10% is emitted upwards as diffused ambient light, creating a pleasant atmosphere.

The lamp's design is not only visually appealing but also highly functional. Structo can be quickly assembled and disassembled, making it easy to transport and store. Its compact package size of 73x13x5cm ensures a low footprint and environmental friendliness.

Operating Structo is a breeze. The lamp features a capacitance touch switch for powering it on and off. For wireless dimming control, users can utilize the "Curio Remote" mobile app, which connects to the lamp via Bluetooth.

The Structo lamp project began in Munich, Germany, in 2014, with the creative design team. Simultaneously, the light engine technology was developed in Taiwan by the engineering team. Production commenced in July 2015, bringing this innovative design to life.

Structo has received recognition for its outstanding design. It was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in the Lighting Products and Fixtures category in 2016. This prestigious accolade is a testament to the lamp's exceptional creativity, technical characteristics, and innovation.

With Structo, Naty Moskovich and Iddo Zimmerman have successfully translated their vision and values into a product experience. This lamp embodies contemporary creative thinking, innovative design, and profound simplicity. It is a symbol of Curio Design's commitment to excellence and social responsibility.
